The MATE ROV (Marine Advanced Technology Education Remotely Operated Vehicle) Competition is a global annual event that challenges students to design, to build, and test underwater robots to solve real-world problems.
The UAS Esslingen's MATE ROV Competition is an annual unterwater robotics STEM challenge that immerses students in marine technology since 2026. Hosted at the Barbarossa Theme Göppingen, it serves as the regional hub for teams across Europe to demonstrate what they habe learned in the robotics program. Aligned with the United Nations Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development, this competition inspires the next generation of youth leaders to champion ocean conservation and sustainabiltiy. It also creates access to new career opportunities in the blue economy, fostering innovation in conservation, Student and teacher workshops will be held at the Unversity of Applied Sciences Esslingen.
